Kites at the beach

Come out and enjoy the pre-kite festivities with us at Long Beach, Washington! This oceanside campground  is a dream for those those exploring the Pacific Northwest, with 28 miles of sandy beach, and a cozy woodfire-heated clubhouse.

Reservations were made in December 2022, and due to a mix-up with the dates of the actual festival, our group reservations are for the 2 days before the kite festival starts. By the time the mix-up was discovered, it was too late to change our reservations, so we will turn it into our own Kite Festival. We will have a contest to see who can come up with the most unique and unusual kite, and fly it. It is still summertime at the Ocean. We will get to see vendors setting up for the event. We'll have fun in the sun at the ocean and explore Long Beach.

Hosted happy hour on Friday (BOYB) and not hosted on Saturday. Coffee and rolls Saturday morning. Saturday night will be a pot luck dinner with s'mores.

Please bring games and puzzles to share.

Saturday Aug. 17, 2024

  • 9:00 am - Coffee and Roll
  • 12:00 pm - Meet at the beach with your kite and bring a sack lunch or snack
  • 4:00 pm - Happy Hour (No Host/ BYOB)
  • 5:00 pm - Pot Luck Dinner
  • 6:30 pm - Games
  • 7:30 pm - Campfire and smores provided

  • Pack up and see you down the road
