Southwest Adventure Caravan

STANDBY/WAITLIST ONLY This popular caravan is filled each year from a single waitlist.  It is currently a 2-4 year wait UNLESS you can fill a late cancellation.  Please register if you are interested.

The Airstream Southwest Adventure Caravan runs from late August, through September, and into early October capturing the stunning beauty of the fall landscapes. Beginning and ending in Albuquerque, NM, we will discover many corners of the Southwest that other tourists may not normally see.  Experience Santa Fe and savor local cuisine in each area. Stand in four states at one time in the Four-Corners region of CO, UT, AZ, and NM.   We will visit Indian pueblos and reservations to learn about their cultures from Native guides. The grandeur of the scenery will amaze you as we ride a narrow gauge train up to Silverton, Colorado, hike to the “Cliff Palace” in Mesa Verde, or ride by jeep into Monument Valley. Moab, Utah, provides gorgeous views in the surrounding National Parks and excitement with “slick-rock riding” in ultimate jeeps. Whether using a camera at Capitol Reef National Park or riding a mule into Bryce Canyon, the parks will captivate you.   After seeing the North Rim of the Grand Canyon we’ll spend four days beside Lake Powell, enjoy a boat trip on the lake, and a tour through a slot canyon. Our final two weeks will take us through Winslow, Arizona then back to New Mexico to explore Gallup and Albuquerque. Our grand finale is the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta.  America the Beautiful Senior passes (formerly the Golden Age Pass) will save you dollars for fees in Mesa Verde, Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef, Arches, Canyonlands, and North Rim of the Grand Canyon National Parks. Come prepared to have fun with your fellow caravanners!

Note:  This is an active caravan which travels through altitudes of 4000 to 8000 feet of elevation.  Anyone with health issues related to high altitudes should be aware that this caravan involves activities in high-altitude areas.  Drivers should be comfortable driving in mountains.  We will also experience a wide range of temperatures, from below freezing at the North Rim (where we dry camp) to upper 90sF (35C) in Moab, UT.  We will be dry camping at four stops and cell-phone service and campground internet will be limited in some locations.
