Longmire Days are held each year in Buffalo, Wyoming, to celebrate the “Longmire” books and TV series. Craig Johnson, the author, lives near Buffalo, in Johnson County. Craig writes about where he lives, changing location names to Durant, and Absaroka County. See: www.longmiredays.com.

E-mails will be sent to announce when general admission tickets are available ($20 in 2023) and again when event tickets are available (usually around $25). Event tickets sell out quickly so be sure to check your e-mails regularly.

For those who have registered:

KOA Owner, Anita, has requested that those who want to “commit,” call her at the KOA, rather than her calling everyone. If there is any difficulty with CAC members getting through,  call Jim Doering jim.doering52@gmail.com and he will contact the KOA and Anita to reach out.

Your $100 will be refunded if you elect not to attend.  After that point, cancellations prior to 30 days before Longmire Days have a one-night cancellation fee. Cancellations within 30 days of Longmire forfeit the entire deposit. Guests are responsible for maintaining their calendars and reservations to manage fees.

One of the main attractions of Longmire Days are seminars featuring author Craig Johnson and the TV actors, i.e. Robert Taylor (Sheriff Longmire), who try to attend each year. Longmire Days also features a parade, street dance, rodeo, Cowboys vs. Indians softball game, Cheyenne Indian dancers, pancake breakfast, and trail rides. The town of Buffalo features businesses mentioned in the books, such as The Busy Bee Café, the famous Occidental Hotel (where Owen Wister wrote “The Virginian”), and Bucking Buffalo Supply Co. (owned by Craig Johnson).

Hosts expect to have Happy Hours, firesides and potlucks. These events will be sent to attendees after the Longmire event schedule is available.

Optional Activities Include:

-    Yoders Country Market (Amish)
-    The Occidental Hotel (oldest operating hotel in WY)
-    Buffalo Golf Club
-    Busy Bee Café (great breakfast-a favorite of Walt Longmire)
-    Saturday Market at Crazy Woman Square
-    Art Fair on the Sheridan College lawn
-    Mountain Meadow Wool Mill (https://mountainmeadowwool.com)
-    Hoofprints of the Past Museum (located in Kaycee)

Optional Activities with Fees:

Specifically scheduled Longmire Days events are reserved and paid for per individual, per event. Event sign-ups are announced via E-mail, and tickets can be purchased at that time.  In addition to Longmire Days, that area of northern Wyoming has interesting sites relating to the Johnson County Cattle War, Hole in the Wall gang (Butch Cassidy), Fort Phil Kearny, and the Jim Gatchell Memorial Historical Museum.
