2025 Kids On The Blue Ridge Caravan

Are you traveling with kids and want to try out a caravan?  If so, this is an ideal caravan to start off with you and the kids (or grandkids)!

We will be ziplining, rafting, hiking, and biking all while traveling along the beautiful NC Blue Ridge Parkway!  All activities are kid friendly with a couple of activities with age or weight restrictions, don’t worry there are alternate options. This active and exciting caravan is only 10 days with three travel days at your own pace.

We begin in Whittier, NC (near Bryson City) where you will camp on the banks of the Tuckaseegee River. While there you’ll raft the Nantahala Gorge. Please note: All participants must be a minimum of 7 years old and 60 pounds.  You’ll have a free day to explore the area – hike and see waterfalls, learn about the Cherokee culture, or ride the Great Smokey Mountains Railroad.  After three nights in Bryson City, we will move to Asheville, NC.

In Asheville, you will fly on a zipline through the mountain treetops, hike and see the waterfalls in DuPont Forest, and visit the historic Biltmore Estate. Please note: For ziplining participants, requirements are a minimum age of 5 and weigh between 45 and 225 pounds.  Participants weighing between 35 and 45 pounds can zipline tandem with their Adventure Guide.   Not interested or unable to zip?  No worries, they have guided RTV excursions that follow the zipliners.

Our last stop is in Boone, NC. You will bike DOWN the historic Virginia Creeper Trail in Damascus, VA. You will also have a free day with many options to pick from - horseback riding on a mountain trail, hiking, or visiting the Tweetsie Railroad. Finally, we will end our wonderful experience with a dinner at the renowned Dan’l Boone Inn.
