“Come and Go” Caravans

Shorter “come and go” caravans allow participants to join, leave and/or re-join the caravan at any point. This ideal for working members or those with limited time.  Members of units in adjoining states may choose to join a short caravan as it nears their home state.

Participants may be responsible for their own campsite reservations at state parks, thereby taking responsibility for cancellation.   They also pay individualized rally fees based on the activities in which they participated.

Spreadsheets and a shorter time period make this easier for caravan leaders to calculate.

Idaho Unit Short Caravan and Rally        September 17 24, 2017

Arkansas Sunken Lands Caravan

I'm thrilled to announce the Arkansas Sunken Lands Caravan; April 20 - 27, 2017.

This will be a casual, week long "Come-n-Go" caravan in North-East Arkansas, that will end at the start of our Spring Rally.

We'll start at beautiful Lake Charles State Park outside Powhatan, Arkansas on Thursday, April 20th for 3 nights.

There, we'll have full hookups (w/e/s).

While there, we'll visit three other beautiful, historic state parks.

On Sunday, April 23rd, we'll caravan to Lake Poinsett State Park near Harrisburg, Arkansas; another beauty.

We'll be there 4 nights, with 2 point hookups (w/e). They have nice flush toilets, showers, and a dump station.

While there, we'll visit Johnny Cash's boyhood home, The Painted House (a movie set), the site where the Southern Tenant Farmers Union was first started (it's a lot cooler than it sounds), an architectural marvel where one river flows under the other, an old pharmacy with its original soda fountain, maybe a couple of other museums, and perhaps a shopping trip to a large, very popular mall in Jonesboro, for everyone so desiring.

Thursday, April 27th, we'll caravan down to Village Creek State Park outside Wynne, Arkansas.

This will be the end of the Arkansas Sunken Lands Caravan, and the beginning of our Spring Rally, 3 nights (Thur - Sun)

Full hookups (w/e/s) here.

For anyone not familiar with the term "Come-n-Go" Caravan, it is a caravan that you may join or leave at any point, even multiple times, if that suits you. Also, you need not feel pressured to take part in any activity that doesn't interest you. Because of the nature of "Come-n-Go" caravans, you must make your own reservations and pay your own way. There will be no caravan fee.

If you're interested, please e-mail me; I'll send details on the campgrounds - contacts - area - etc.    This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Be sure to plan early because Arkansas state parks are very popular - they fill up well ahead time.
