This is my final article for the Blue Beret as International President of this great club. When Sandy and I bought our first Airstream trailer and joined the Wally Byam Caravan Club International in 1970, we never expected or dreamed that I would one day be International President. As I have said before, this is not a one-man show. We have many dedicated volunteers ready and willing to help whenever the need arises. There are many members whom I need to thank for helping me – but I won’t mention them publicly for fear of missing someone. I do want to thank our dear friend, Cindy Reed, Corporate Manager, for coming to my aid on more than one occasion. Cindy was never too busy to take my calls and questions. Cindy has resigned from her position as Corporate Manager effective July 4. The club will miss her years of knowledge and expertise. I am sure, though, that whoever assumes Cindy’s responsibilities will also do an outstanding job for our club.  Sandy and I attended the Florida State Rally in April at Sunshine Key Resort in the Florida Keys. There were 122 rigs and approximately 240 attendees. There were full hook-up sites on the water, and the weather was spectacular with blue cloudless skies, and 75-80 degree temperatures. If you missed this rally, you really missed a good one. We plan to go to the Florida State Rally next year. Our thanks to Frank Carson and Daniel Maciejczyk for a great rally.

Sandy and I look forward to seeing many of you at Gillette when we have our Opening Ceremony on June 28. If you have served in the military in America, Canada or Australia, please mention this fact to the registration personnel when you register, so that everyone attending the rally can thank you for your service.

Wishing all safe travels, good health, and many blessings.

John & Sandy Stumpf
