Classsic Airstream Club
Ed Efira # 5495
CAC Vice President & Membership Chairman
Following our luncheon/annual business meeting in Du Quoin, the Classic Airstream Club new team of officers and volunteers is planning new activities for 2012. I have good news to report. If you thought you missed the deadline to register for the “Plantations of Southern Louisiana Caravan,” you can be reassured there are still a few spots available.
John Landry #5882, President of the Louisiana Acadiana Unit, and longtime WBCCI Band Director, will be leading the caravan with his wife, Yvette, and co-leaders Lynn and Joyce Conner, from April 18 to May 3, 2012. Do not miss the opportunity to join this caravan, whether it would be your first time in Louisiana or whether you are already familiar with the area. John and Lynn have a great experience in planning not only caravans but also numerous rallies in their Region. They are extremely knowledgeable about Louisiana and its culture. And they know where to eat and how to cook the best Cajun food. From Vidalia, LA (just a bridge away, over the Mississippi River, from Natchez, MS), as our friend John says: “You’ll be transported to another time as you’ll tour the beautiful plantation homes from another era.” On the footsteps of artist-naturalist John James Audubon, you’ll enjoy the exuberant vegetation, the centenarian oaks heavily adorned with strands of Spanish moss, the magnolias and the roses.
More information and flyer to download on our website at http://classicairstream.wbcci.net/ Direct link http://classicairstream.files.wordpress. com/2011/05/cac-plantation-caravan.pdf This caravan has been planned and is reserved to the Classic Airstream Club members only. If you are not members yet, what can you do to join? Easy, just fill in the membership application that you can download from the Classic Airstream Club website HERE. Because all the Classic Airstream Club officers, all our caravan leaders and all our helpers are volunteers, annual dues have been at $10.00 for as far as we can remember and -another good news- they still are at $10.00. If you are a member, time to pay our dues is here again and Kay Corder, our dedicated Treasurer, and past President, is standing by. Never too late to renew if you forgot last year!
